What is "Prayer"?

Prayer is talking with God. It is the way we grow in our relationship with Him, as His Word fills our minds and His affections capture our hearts. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you “ (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

If prayer was simply an activity or a duty we are supposed to perform, the call to pray as often as we breathe would make little sense. But prayer is a way of consciously doing life with God at all times, and so it is good for the Bible to encourage us to “pray without ceasing.” Our God wants to walk in close communion with us and this is the greatest news in the world!

At Glory of Christ Fellowship, we love to pray for the needs of others as well as our own, so if you have a prayer request--no matter how little or big--submit it to us through the form on the right, and we promise to pray for you as the Lord leads us. We further encourage you to meditate on some portion of Bible, like John 15:1-11, and let your requests be made known to God in your own words and way (see Philippians 4:4-7).
